Dogs

My nephew called me today. He said it was about time to bring his dog up here to live, that BooBoo (the dog) had shit on the floor for the third day in a row and he was done with her. I considered whether or not living with two dogs rather than one would make me less lonely. I decided not, so I made my nephew a better offer: I told him the dog could come and live with me if he came too!
On the surface it looks like a selfish offer, I know: I want company. Actually it is a very generous offer when you consider THE TURMOIL OF YOUTH, and that he has to find a new "place" in thirty days
See, I'd have company (probably be tired of his ass in three days, he's always tired of me after 72 hours), but he'd get to keep his dog, and he'd get free rent, and he'd get a stable home for him and his dog, and all without a deposit, first and last, and references. He wouldn't have to falsify income either. He would have to get a job. Remember all those hassles?
I got up today lonely. I'm tired of having nothing to do but work and no one to share my misery with. I've been home two days from Sacramento. I miss many things. Friends. Family. Wife. The weather: Sacramento is a paradise weather-wise. I think one has to live elsewhere from the valley to realize how comfortable it is. I discussed Sacramento with my mother. Her leaving Sacramento after fifty years and moving to Grants Pass was really a return to her home: She grew up on a farm outside of Myrtle Creek, Oregon. She's very happy with her move. I grew up in Sacramento. I'm lonely.
Mom will be eighty years old this July. She's joined the Grants Pass garden club, a church, a widows group. She wants to make friends and have a full life. I am invited to meet people. I decline. I have no interest. I languish in my loneliness and make little effort to resolve the problem. It is not people I miss.
It has been below freezing every night here. I still build a fire every day to take the chill out of the air. There is a lot of work involved when one lives in the mountains. Especially in a cabin that still needs the plumbing and is heated by a wood burning stove. Spring is so wonderful.Summer will be better.
I think about my next move: Should I look for property in the mountains I can pay cash for, then rent a place in Sacramento? or re-invest in the valley and return to the city? or go to China and teach for a while? I'll have to SELL first, and China is out because I have a dog. I can't give Shep up, we're partners!
My nephew's call reminds me of why I moved to the Mountains in the first place: I could no longer afford my home in the city but I absolutely needed a base , a home, stability, a sanctuary with a yard for the dog. It terrified me to think of being a renter while I watched the rest of my assets disappear ( fools and money, I knew I needed to re-invest, quickly). I remember being homeless, money in the bank didn't negate the fears, Those six weeks before I found Happy Camp road were horrid!
Happy Camp road is still all it was before: I realize it's Hell Explained that is making life not worth living...............Google will take you there if you don't understand : It's really a question of here or her. And if it's not her then China may be the answer, in which case this will be a great place to return to. Maybe I should take BooBoo for Shep?

The Danger...

.......I wrote of on Jan. 28 in an E titled, "It's not about race", looms closer on the horizon today. In that e I asked," Will they( Obama supporters) accept a defeat if non-black voters do not support the Senator and then claim, "It's not about race"? It would now appear non-black voters are supporting the Senator in at least enough numbers to give him the nomination.
Now I worry that Senator Obama could win the majority of delegates and the popular vote, and then lose because of the "super delegates", thus, igniting deeply held feelings of racial inequity that would result in rioting and social unrest. Possibly civil war.
IF I was a Black American and Sen. Obama was the popular vote and delegate winner, and then somehow was not the candidate, I would question everything about America . And regardless of the visible, initial reactions, the designation of Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee without a clear cut victory would be a devisive disaster for the nation; An alienating action to Black Americans that would set race relations back fifty years.
It's obvious The Clinton campaign is not going to concede. On the contrary, the more the nomination appears to slip from Hillary's hands, the nastier she and Bill become ! Is she enough of a stateswoman to gracefully bow out for the good of the party and the election of a Democrat? HELL NO....... But would the Clintons and the Party pull some political, backdoor, curveball in order to win the nomination for Hillary, even at the expense of the nations race relations? That's what "Florida and Michigan recounts", and "super delegates" sound like, to me. That would be dangerous to the nation as as whole.
An additional danger is if the campaign continues to be ugly and escalates any further then it already should not have, the democrats will weaken themselves to the point McBush could win. Now thats dangerous.
But, when political strategists theorize one candidates supporters will be so turned off by the other candidates nomination that they will not vote, or switch affiliation and vote Republican, I believe it could be much worse: I dare say it, "If Sen.Obama goes into the convention with the most delegates, He damn well better come out the nominee".
Or we can play "Burning down the House". In other words, Black America is supporting Senator Obama in the 90+ percentiles, should by some hook or crook Hillary Clinton get the nomination, and Black America see it as a robbery, I can almost see Oprah throwing Molotav cocktails! After the Gore\2001 robbery and eight years of Bush, I may want to join the revolution. (can't bite the hand that feeds me).
I'll repeat my words of Jan28;
The Obama campaign promises to illustrate how tolerant, mature, evolved, and hypocritical we are as a nation. And I dare say it now: It is about race, and a myriad of other qualities that have nothing to do with race, but, should Senator Obama lose, "race" will then be a major issue. If he wins: History marches on, he's the first, there will be others.
In the coming months, America will learn something about her people: They don't live in a Grey World.
Red state, Blue state, Revealing me and you state.
In the now infamous words of the Reverend Wright, " Hillary Clinton will never know what it's like to be a black man in a society and culture controlled by rich white men." Neither does anybody else whom isn't a black man, I would imagine, BUT, the Reverend seems to know of a frustration, or anger, or power hidden deep within the unsatisfied souls of his delegation. Watch the congregation as they nod and agree with his words. They seem to know what the Reverend is speaking of. These are affluent Blacks whom lack for nothing, yet they share the Reverends feelings. And in the event that Senator Obama should get cheated out of the nomination for President, those feelings will become dangerous. It will be like a war cry to revolt against a society and culture controlled by rich white men.

The Day Before Payday

It's the day before payday. I had left over meatloaf for breakfast. My first cup of coffee had milk and sugar in it; all the creamer is gone, now the milk is too. I'm out of bread and eggs, Pepsi, bagels, cheese, and chocolate milk also. From this point the list becomes infinite, suffice to say, payday will arrive none too soon.
Life is so wonderful. Living in thirty day cycles within five year goals isn't so great, but every day an inch. I feel like the goal-less worm. It will happen and I will get there. Don't ask where, if you think about our ultimate destination, inching towards it is much too fast. Just another five years, ten or fifteen times will do, maybe. I was looking for one hundred and five but the closer I get, the better one hundred and fifty looks. I need more time to get things right. If 'only the good die young', isn't that like a war-cry for misbehaving? Do only the wicked get old, or only after avoiding dying young do they repent and become good old people?
Is John McBush really a war-monger? Does Hillary Clinton realize that her idea and description of dodging bullets in Bosnia is an insult to service people who have served under-fire? Does Hillary Clinton know? Hillary will never know what it is like to be a black man in a society and culture controlled by rich white people. Hillary will never know what it is to be a poor, bald man without a Harvard education, living in a shack, in a society and culture controlled by rich white people. Barack Obama will never know what it's like to be from Arkansas either, or a woman; or married to Bill. Hell, I can never know a lot of things that being me inherently prohibits. I can only imagine what being married to me would be like.
Sounds to me like black churches lay a double whammy on their followers; the only way to heaven is through the Son (inclusive/exclusive), and you better stay strong with God to fight white supremacy. That means coming to Church to get your lessons in divisiveness. What we really need is a 9/11 in space with an alien Al Qaeda that is bright-green and has three arms. That would give everybody a common enemy. Earthling or not! I'm glad I got this out today, cos tomorrow I'll have money and no time for this bullshit.

More of the Same?

I was going to express an opinion on McCain for more of the same; the guy is already touring the troops like he's Commander-in-Chief. Senator McCain can't wait to be BOSS. That candidate is a war monger. And he will not answer to the American people any more than President Bush did.
The boy has baggage. I personally think he might still be fighting the Vietnam war , but my gut feeling is once he's elected he'll really stir the shit, regardless. A vote for John McCain is a vote for the same, but much more dangerous.
If John McCain were elected, without doubt, his interpretation would be, the American people are imperialistic and want to save the world (while big profits are made). And that we agree with 'the surge', and want more. Maybe we could surge into Iran. We believe him when he gives us that, "my friends" bullshit. I mean, didn't the American public make their wishes known in the last election? Yet Senator McCain touts his backing 'the surge', wants to continue the occupation of Iraq, wants to continue to rattle the saber while America falls apart. Is he kidding? Obviously HE DOESN'T LISTEN.
And that's the scary part. Senator McCain backed 'the surge', and now, while the surge is reported as succeeding, he wants positive credit, but the American people did not want 'the surge' in the first place, nor do they want a war of occupation. If Senator McCain were listening he'd plan the withdrawal of troops. Yet Senator McCain talks about commitment to the war, and saving the world. Like an arrogant warrior from the Crusades, thinking he can change centuries of culture, and religion, with hate: we were supposed to be looking for weapons of mass destruction, not taking the place over and making commitments for decades. How the hell did that get lost in the Bush bullshit?
McCain for more of the same!
Don't let it happen!

Economic Downturn

Hey,.... What up? That header should give me enough lateral room to move on this note. Let's get to it.
As the first major bank fails, the President addresses the "Economic Club of New York" and states the American economy is "strong" And "resilient". The President brushes off the mortgage crisis as "the market adjusting" and disagrees with any federal plans to bail out those whom were "speculating", and homeowners "whom shouldn't have been granted loans in the first place".
As The President reads his speech, whenever he throws a line of bullshit on his listeners, he cannot conceal that little smirk of his. The President confidently reassures his audience the "Stimulus" package hasn't started yet, but well in May, and then the economy will pick up. It's purpose, in his words:
"Secondly, the package will provide tax rebates to more than 130 million households. And the purpose is to boost consumer spending. The purpose is to try to offset the loss of wealth if the value of your home has gone down. The purpose is to buoy the consumer. "
Anybody lose three hundred dollars on Property value the last two years? No ,...really.Throw a starving man a bone.
Take your three hundred dollars to Wal-Mart and buy something, Sacramento, It will help to offset the 30-40% property loss the area has taken in two years: $30,000 per $100,000. At least the President got the 3 right. In other words "Are you kidding?"
Let your confidence be buoyed: Let's head over to Chevron for a four dollar gallon of gas. Afterwards we can go to Starbucks for a three dollar cup of coffee. Everything is O.K. Nothing to worry about.
... What the President wants to do is make everybody feel better until he's out of office and the theft
complete.
Billions and Billions and Billions. Wars to Save the World. Enron. Blackwater. The Mortgage Meltdown. Democracy for Iraq. ( Democracy for Viet Nam was the cry in that era). The Katrina Response. The Florida Election Scandal. It started bad, it's not over, it won't be for a long time, it'll be worse, But it's not the prez's fault:
"And I want to spend a little time talking about that, but I want to remind you, this is not the first time since I've been the President that we have faced economic challenges. We inherited a recession. And then there was the attacks of September the 11th, 2001, which many of you saw firsthand, and you know full well how that affected our economy. And then we had corporate scandals. And I made the difficult decisions to confront the terrorists and extremists in two major fronts, Afghanistan and Iraq. And then we had devastating natural disasters. And the interesting thing, every time, this economy has bounced back better and stronger than before".
See, it's not his fault, and "....the interesting thing, every time, this economy has bounced back better and stronger than before".
Which brings us to today, and wait, since those aforementioned pitfalls have already occured........ this must be "better and stronger than before".
Which brings us to the X factor. View the X as a graph. The left top is where the dollar starts. The left bottom where oil prices start. See, where the lines of the X go as the graph moves right. The X factor.
Which brings us to the end of the world as we know it. Nothing new, the world is constantly changing, as is our knowledge and understanding of it. We have nothing to fear but fear itself, and this economy has bounced back better and stronger than before, every time. And the interesting thing; If that were true than Today would not be Today, and bank failure, oil prices and the falling dollar would not be news. What's the opinion from Berkeley? London? Love Pa

A Note to My Oldest Son

What's up Son,
Have you no opinion on American politics? Perfectly fine really, I know nothing about Britain except everybody in London is from somewhere else, and you can meet women from everywhere in the world and never leave the city limits. Oh, and look right or die, 'cause that's the direction from which traffic approaches! Find a good bakery for coffee and a foreign girl, (since I'm a foreigner in London) and it's a hook.
Woke up to snow flakes this morning. Cold. Winter doesn't want to release the mountains from it's grip. When the sun comes out Spring warmth is in it's light though. Meanwhile I'm forced to cut firewood daily to keep warm. Exercise. Next year I'll stock 10 cord of wood, not 2. I can deal with the solitude as long as there is food and firewood in the house. The basics; food, shelter, warmth. Love, laughter, music.
Perverted perceptions of the basics are wrong; green bud and easy money were not part of the original formula. Sugar babies weren't either. I slept with several last night in the pocket of my pajamas. During the night they slipped out of my pocket and proceeded to glue me to the bed. They were still good eating after being removed with a pocketknife. Like honey. The perfect food.
Your cousin got a 60 day notice to move out of the trailer. His dad agreed, and he's got 30 days left and not a clue. It's bite the bullet and grow up for your cousin. I might bring him to southern Oregon as an indentured laborer.
I figure your cousin, Carlos, you and me and it'll be THE PONDEROSA! BonannnnnnnZaaaaaaa!

Who Threw that Rock?

I'm not really sure about the time line on this one, but it doesn't matter because in the great scheme of things, it all happened at once.
Unless of course you' re a scientist and don't want to see the world\universe\life as holographic and simultaneously occuring. Then it's not as easy to believe "creation" museum theology. What's the matter ? The idea of the children out walking the t-rex doesn't jive with you? Forget the carbon dating and Geological Know it Alls. What do they really know? They weren't alive sixty five million years ago .
I don't want to be blasphemous 'cause, well,.... go figure, but maybe GOD went to the table on the sixth day and said " let me create the creatures for all the different time periods of this world, today, and tommorrow I'll sleep late and make the old man happy" , and that's the way it went down.
All the animals created on the same day doesn't necessarily mean they all lived at the same time, they just got designed in one day. Wouldn't that explain biblical literature and still accomodate science?
Or maybe they're standing knee deep in swamp on another time plane, next door, right now, and we can't get there because we don't know how to plane jump. Are there people there too?
However it's laid out; fifth dimension, four ,three, shadow and light, I can see a real correlation between the pyramids and the dinosaurs, timewise. I mean, that would explain all the pyramids in those sandy, dry areas; " standing knee deep in swamp", is how the dinsaurs are depicted.
The long knecked brontasaurus, placidly eating swamp greens, waiting to be eaten by Mr. Rex. Gigantic Webbed-winged bats with hair balls swinging at the end of their long tails slowly floating by in the sky. Peering down they look for what a swift dive might bring to their jaws.
No Thanks. I'll live in the desert. Build a huge pointed building out of rock. Keep the soft bellied reptiles off the top. Make sure if there's a tussle the stones are big enough it doesn't getted knocked over. Makes sense to me.
That would explain massive stone carvings and statues around the cities. Not to Idol: Intimidation. I bet when Mr Rex bit the giant stoneman, or tried to Grab the neck of the Sphinx in those jaws, he learned his lesson. That's why they would put robes on the statues; make 'em move; draw the bite. The statues weren't cold. Don't be silly!
The pyramids would explain man still being on this plane and the Dinosaurs being extinct, too. If the big rock struck in the gulf of Mexico, wiping out all of Atlantis and every Geological, Sociological, and Architectural proof of the Book of Mormon, and we know it must have because we know there was definitely an Atlantis, Then it would have killed all the Dinosaurs because they were in the wrong part of town and couldn't get inside the pyramids to the honey. That explains man's proliferation of the earth, too. All those months , even years in the pyramids waiting for the sun to come out again. Just man and his honey,
That explains the pyramids in the jungle, too; After the rock the CC&R's were relaxed.
Thus, Man survived and the dinosaurs died......but,....obviously there in itself, is more argument for the belief in Miracles and suspension of all scientific knowledge.
Yeah,..it all happened at once, I got it.
